Bipolar disorder care through telehealth
LisaCare Psychiatry and Wellness lists bipolar disorder among its specialties and provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management by telehealth. Care begins with understanding your current concerns, history and goals and deciding whether LisaCare’s services fit your needs.
Why the pattern over time matters
The National Institute of Mental Health describes bipolar disorder as involving episodes with changes in mood, energy and activity. Diagnosis considers the severity, length and frequency of symptoms over a person’s lifetime, along with family history. Other health conditions and substances can cause or worsen similar symptoms, which is one reason an individual evaluation matters.
During a psychiatric evaluation, you can discuss how concerns have changed over time, how they affect daily life and what previous care you have received. An evaluation does not guarantee a diagnosis, medication or particular treatment.
Information to discuss
- Changes in mood, sleep, energy or activity and when they occurred
- Previous diagnoses, hospital care, medications and other treatment
- Medical conditions, substance use or family history that may be relevant
- Current concerns about functioning, relationships, school or work
- Whether care should be coordinated with another clinician or a higher level of care
LisaCare also offers medication management, including review, prescribing when appropriate, monitoring and treatment adjustments. Prescribing scope, follow-up frequency and service eligibility must be confirmed with the practice. No particular medication is guaranteed.
Provider and telehealth access
Prisca Oketch, APRN, PMHNP-BC, provides care as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. LisaCare serves all ages across the lifespan in English and Swahili. Visit the specialties overview or meet Prisca.
Eligible patients must be physically located in Texas, Oregon or Washington during an appointment. Medicaid is accepted in Oregon only. Washington appointments are currently cash-pay while insurance enrollment is pending.
Fees and next step
Cash-pay fees are $200 for an initial visit and $150 for a follow-up. A $75 monthly Gold membership is listed for follow-up appointments in medication management and brief psychotherapy; patients can cancel anytime. Review fees and insurance and ask what the Gold membership includes.
Contact LisaCare to arrange the 15-minute eligibility consultation. It costs $15 and is credited toward the initial visit if you proceed. It is separate from the $200 initial visit available through online scheduling.
