OCD care through telehealth

LisaCare Psychiatry and Wellness lists obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) among its specialties and provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management through telehealth. An evaluation can help clarify your concerns and determine which services or referrals fit your needs.

Understanding obsessions and compulsions

The National Institute of Mental Health describes OCD as a long-lasting disorder involving uncontrollable recurring thoughts, called obsessions, repetitive behaviors, called compulsions, or both. These symptoms can take significant time, cause distress or interfere with daily life.

You can discuss unwanted thoughts, repeated behaviors and their effect on daily life during a psychiatric evaluation. Ask which therapy options are available and whether care would involve an outside therapist or specialist.

Questions to bring to LisaCare

  • Which thoughts, urges or repeated behaviors are causing concern?
  • How much time do they take, and how do they affect daily life?
  • What previous diagnoses, therapy or medications should be reviewed?
  • Would medication management fit my needs?
  • Would LisaCare coordinate care with an OCD-focused therapist or another clinician?

Medication management includes review, prescribing when appropriate, monitoring and treatment adjustments. Prescribing scope and follow-up frequency must be confirmed with LisaCare. No medication or outcome is guaranteed.

Provider and telehealth access

Care is provided by Prisca Oketch, APRN, PMHNP-BC, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. LisaCare serves all ages across the lifespan in English and Swahili. Explore the specialties overview and meet Prisca.

Eligible patients must be physically located in Texas, Oregon or Washington during an appointment. Medicaid is accepted in Oregon only. Washington appointments are currently cash-pay while insurance enrollment is pending.

Fees and how to start

Cash-pay fees are $200 for an initial visit and $150 for a follow-up. LisaCare lists a $75 monthly Gold membership for follow-up appointments in medication management and brief psychotherapy; patients can cancel anytime. Review fees and insurance and ask what the Gold membership includes.

Contact LisaCare to arrange the 15-minute eligibility consultation. It costs $15 and is credited toward the initial visit if you proceed. It is separate from the $200 initial visit available through online scheduling.

Ask about OCD-care eligibility or review appointment options.
